Purpose?

So, just finished watching a movie that brought up the question what is your purpose?
Some of the characters in the movie said their children, some said to be with the ones they love, etc. It really got me thinking, "What is MY purpose?" I don't have kids that I live everyday for, I am not married but I do have my family; mom, Anthony, dad and all of the other many relatives. But still the question plagues me, What is MY purpose?! I enjoy my job and my family and friends, but what is really guiding my life? I do want to get married and have children. I enjoy working with my students and coworkers, but is that enough. Is that enough for me? Is this what I wake up for everyday? Hmmm, it may be time to go back to therapy. :)

Liftoff!!!

We have liftoff! I finally took a step towards something that I have been told I needed to do for a long, long time. I also knew I needed to do it, but saying it and doing it were two different things. But I finally picked up the phone and made the call. I felt so much better after the call and know that I am moving towards the rest of my life. It's moments like these that remind me of the poem, "Footprints in the Sand." I really do feel that God gave me the strength yesterday to do something that was long overdue.
Thank you!!!

Procrastination Central!!!

I don't know why it is but I am one of the biggest procrastinators! I don't know why or how this came to be but it is. Can you get hypnotized for this? Oh, how I wish it was that easy. I will learn one day, hopefully. Until then I will stop procrastinating for now and get back to work. Hahahahaha :)

Twi-Mom!!!

Ok, so talked to mom earlier today and she said she went and saw Eclipse last night. We proceeded to talk on the phone and discuss how cute Edward and Jacob are. She now needs to be inducted into the Twilight Moms group! Love it. Love her. Love life!!!

And it's a go...

This gazelle has been sitting in my living room for the last year and has probably been used only about 20 times when I would start using it for a week and then fall off the wagon!
So here goes another try! I'm going to start off small and be realistic about what I can do. I know it's not much but I'm going to start with 10 minutes a day for a week and then increase my time 5 minutes every week.
You may be wondering why now? Well, why not now?! Ok I'll be honest. Last week at my training we went to lunch on campus, UT, and well, I was too out of breath walking in the heat across campus from 26th and Red River to the Union! Then I found myself sitting on the couch this evening watching a show with Jillian from Biggest Loser and thought, "I can do this, too!" If I can be stubborn and hard headed about somethings, why not be stubborn about taking care of myself?!
The other first step today was setting a date to have my wisdom teeth removed!
So, here we go towards a healthier me!!!

*Oh and kind of tempted to buy one of those shake weights and see if it works on my arms. We shall see if I give in!

Prince charming

Heard this song again from chris wicks called stealing cinderella and thought, "where's prince charming to steal this Cinderella?!" I did find inspiration or rather hope that if there are women out there marrying late in life and having children, there's still hope for me!
Love the little things in the universe that give us hope!

More firsts

Hmmm, where to start?

Lunch with Jen mendez at la palapa for my bday was great. The day was then followed by hanging with some very special friends who helped me celebrate at Sherlocks. Well, I made it through my 30th birthday without falling in my four inch heels. Drank like a fish and didn't get sick, although the next morning I may have still been intoxicated. Ooops! Oh and for the first time in like four years I actually had a birthday cake on my actual birthday. Wren you are amazing thanks for being so awesome, the chocolate italian cream cake from Upper Crust bakery was delicious!!!

Had my first visit to Cafe Caffeine with Tyler my fellow trainer. While waiting I ran into Lesley Cochran whom I was yet to see this year.

Helped celebrate Nina and Angela's birthdays at Sherlocks San Antonio. Good times!!! Also met more of my future step-nieces and step- nephew on father's day.

Last day of my 20s

So ready for the next chapter in my life and turning 30. So what do I do for my last day as a 20 something?! I cleaned. Cleaning my apt was a bit cathartic or literally cleansing. Ready to start doing things for myself and really focusing on making me happy! Hello thirty!

Homesick...

Couldnt have said it better! I'm "homesick for a place that doesn't even exist!" -garden state

Another one that I'd have to agree with. Life..."it's real. Sometimes it f...ing hurts. It's sort of all we have!" -garden state

No...

I really need to jump on the just say no bandwagon when people ask for help. I can't help but to help them. Blame it on my inner desire to be accepted by all, to please others, or have them like me. I just can't figure out how to mutter that two letter word! NO. Is there rehab for this?

Serenity now...

It's time for peace of mind, peace of heart, and peace of soul. Too much work on others and for others has helped achieve great things. What have I achieved for myself? Is it serenity now or selfishness now?
If I seek achievements for myself there will be achievements for others as well. The achievements of others has not necessarily been an achievement for me. Time to refocus... On me!
Truly, for my wellness will assist to produce wellness in others.

Think globally, act locally.

Miss, you need to hurry up...

So today after testing one of my old students hung around and helped pack up the testing room. So what was the topic of conversation? "Miss, you're already 29 you're not young anymore. You need to hurry up and have babies!" My response, "I'm still looking for a good man and I have plenty of time." Her response, " no miss you're already 29!" OUCH!!! So, next on the list of firsts...find a husband and get pregnant. Oh and as she left the room she told me I need to make it happen this week. No pressure!

New blooms, new life, new beginnings...

Well, Spring is upon us and with that brings new blooms, new life, and new beginnings, a little something that hopefully this year is all about. To go along with that theme are new experiences. One of my big goals for this year of great change is to try new things. Sound like a plan? Join me in the quest to try new things this year and make changes at this time in my life. Check out the "Firsts..." post to see some of the new things I've done, tried, experienced. Some firsts may be rather mundane, others are big steps that will change my life in one way or another. Feel free to share your firsts with us!
